Hey Gang, I just traded a 15 1SS auto for an 18 2SS with a 6 speed. I'm an old 4 speed guy. Maybe I'm just out of practice but often when I shift from 1st to 2nd it goes to 4th. To prevent this from happening I try holding the shifter to the left during the shift. When I do that, it seems to hit a stop and I have to go back to neutral to pull it into 2nd. Is it just me or is that a common problem on a manual transmission?

It's driving me nuts because I want to take it to the dragstrip.
I'm not going to embarrass myself if I can't even shift it going to the friggin gas station.
