It looks like they increased the ratio of 6th gear to make up the difference.
I still would rather have more aggressive gearing in the transmission and a less aggressive ring and pinion gear. I like a taller gear from the factory because they are generally stronger, and I like the idea of being able to make larger jumps in the aftermarket. What does this mean for the M6 guys? We will have to go to 4.56's to see any decent gain? And 4.56's have the reputation for being very weak, constantly shearing. I don't like it. The auto setup looks nice with 2.73's. You can swap to a 3.42 and see huge acceleration gains while maintaining a strong ring and pinion gear.
It also looks like we'll have to shift into 4th in the quarter mile. That'll hurt for sure.
