The white tape you are talking of that comes on brand new cars is made by Tesa. It is very expensive too. We use only Tesa tapes in my shop(Car audio). They have interior panel protection tape too, and we use a lot of their electrical tape. Its the OEM tapes used in most vehicles today from the factory. If you are looking to purchase it you can find a tesa store on facebook from a guy in stoneham MA, he was the first to bring it into the country for resale.
