not saying they dont ignore lights/noises/signs, just that it's not some sudden thing.
it's weeks if not months of neglect before the engine is dead. If it ever dies from oil issues rather than before some other catastrophic thing happens to the car since people who make those kinds of decisions are likely making poor ones all over the place like not watching for other cars in traffic ..etc.
