That was one of the best defensive performances in the modern Super Bowl era by the Patriots. Julian Edleman did play great getting the MVP, but the defense won the game for the Patriots.
For the season, the Rams averaged 32.9 points, 421.1 yards per game on offense. The Pats held them to only 62 yards rushing and 229 passing, and only 3 points. The Rams never entered the red zone the entire game.
This Pats defense is without a doubt one of the most underrated defenses ever to play the game.
