Thank you all for your replies and descriptions of the fluid condition at your mileages!

I wanted to get an idea of the service interval that other enthusiasts were following. I will perform well in advance of the schedule maintenance specified in the owners manual (at 45,000 miles), but didn't want to perform it unnecessarily too soon either.
