You have 2 anyway. Even on a DI car, the low pressure pump is in the tank which in turn feeds the high pressure fuel pump that is on the engine.
So:
A regular PFI car only has the low pressure in tank pump (LS3 and older, all the way back to early EFI, like Tuned Port Injection cars in early 80’s).
All other cars, both DI (LT1/4) and DI/PFI (LT5) cars, have both low pressure and high pressure fuel pumps.
