You do have to remove the old lid, take the leather off and staples and then contact cement the new cover onto the plastic. Im no upholsterer so it took some patience.

Yours looks great! Gonna need one soon for the Camaro, we'll just finish first the installation of the brake pads,
tire and wheel packages on the Wrangler project this week. Gonna need a thicker padding as the stock one is too low.
