This is one of the biggest reasons that Chevy went mid-engine. The average age of the Corvette buyer is much higher than any other performance car by a longshot, and this mid-engine design is going to lower that by quite a bit.
I don't think the old-man sterotype will fit anymore. Most of the old guys are going to hate this because it is too big a departure from the good-ole-days, and no manual. And young folks could care less about tradition, they are too young for there to be any tradition, and they don't know how to drive a manual.
But, time will tell....
