My understanding is that this is a 6 rib set up and makes a little less power. I have often thought about this but I think with the air box out of the way that whole section is wide open and a ton of air is comeing in. Mine is the set up with the 8 rib stage 2 with the filter by the valve cover. Im not sure the stock box would make more power I have decided no with out any real world testing.
