I think my problem in acceleration is the A8. On the road it was very nice but on the track I was left wanting to scream at it for downshifting to quickly in corners and leaving me digging out of the lower RPM's on corner exit.

But I would argue that it "feels" slower on acceleration versus the ZL1 regardless of what the #'s say but that could just be me.
