When you are using a pressure washer for car cleaning you want to be around 1000psi.
Use a 40degree tip. If your pressure washer is giving you high PSI then get a new tip with a larger orifice in it.
You would need to experiment with it but if you have something that is around 1600psi you would want to use something like a 2.5mm orifice to bring it down to 1000psi.
Car washing gallons per min is more important for washing it off. So as you drop the PSI with the larger orifice that will also up your GPM of the unit making it better for rinsing off the car.

I just recently installed this dedicated detailing pressure washer set up in my garage.
It is the Active VE52 pressure washer that does 1000PSI and 2gpm
I am using the MTM hydro 40degree 4mm orifice tip on the unit.
