Aside from the horsepower, I'm sure Chevy also noticed the optional digital gauge cluster in the Mustang. Chevy has the HUD, but Ford has that big 12" customizable cluster.
So slight horsepower bump and optional digital gauges seem like good places to start as far as non-cosmetic changes.

Chevy doesn't always respond. Chevy was happy leaving the automatic SS at 400 hp from '11-'15 while the Mustang continued to improve and out-power it with 412 hp, 420 hp, and 435 hp. It took them 4 years to respond with the '16. Will they go another 4 years?
