Next was to change the front gold bowtie to black. I read about different ways to do this and most involved taking stuff apart to get to the back of it or prying it off with trim tools. I was not going to keep the gold bowtie, so this is what I did and it worked great.
The first pic is the back side of the black bowtie. You can see four clips. The arrows point in the direction you need to push the clips to remove the bowtie from the grill. Using the new bowtie, I located where to drill 1/4" holes to access the correct side of the clips to push. Just drill slow and as soon as you break through the bowtie, stop. Used a small allen wrench to push each clip and it came off with ease.
