Let's get the nonsense out of the way. The Hellcat is well build and insanely reliable for a car pushing well over 700 HP. BOTH ZL1's I drove have had issues, though minor. Typically, we have fanboys here ready to bash Ford and Dodge and that's a shame.
My friends Challenger has done 10.9 with nothing but DR's and he's not very experienced. I've done low 11's on street tires. These are big room comfortable cruisers with a ton of power and are just loads of fun, even on famous twisty runs like Angeles Crest. Everyone loves the Hellcat.
The ZL1 is amazing. It's going to beat a Hellcat off the line 10 out of 10 times because it's got the right tires and it handles beautifully. It's a fully rounded sports car and the Hellcat is not. But I'm sorry to say that out on a open road the Hellcat feels better in a certain way. It feels faster and unrestrained. It's a monster with a LOT more attitude than the ZL1.
So let's get real. Both cars are likely to be reliable. Enter the Dodge Demon. I'm sorry, but even if it's not a road car like a ZL1, god help you if you try to pull on one. And those who think we won't be seeing 9's are just acting silly. Hellcats see 10.85's all the time. There's so much more tech than the armchair racers here understand.
And don't discount marketing. Artful and creative marketing is part of what makes cars into legends. ZL1 doesn't exactly roll off the tongue and make people excited. 1Le sounds like a special shoe size. Spare me the legacy nonsense. I drive a CHARGER. Lots of legacy right there. Add "Hellcat" and everyone's excited. Add "Demon" and you get more excitement.
Looking forward to my ZL1, but I do love my Hellcat!

So someone is a fanboy because Dodges reliability sucks, we have something called choice in America. Dodge sucks.
