The ZL1 hood on the website looks pretty awesome too. I'd like to buy it, but the disclaimers scare me away.

May I ask, why not make the hood a simple stock replacement (i.e., okay for gas struts, no concerns for heat, etc.)?
The CTS-V has a full carbon fiber hood, and it seems to work okay.
