According to the report, the hopped-up Colorado will come via Walkinshaw, which also backs Holden Special Vehicles. It’s unclear if HSV will go away entirely following the demise of the locally-built Holden Commodore. Some reports claimed HSV will simply become Walkinshaw altogether. The Walkinshaw Holden Colorado will reportedly feature a twin-turbo V6 plucked from a certain premium brand. We’d surmise that means Cadillac, which offers the 3.6-liter twin-turbo V6 engine for a couple of V-Sport offerings.

Details are scarce at the moment, but if Walkinshaw can do it, Chevrolet can do it. We hope there’s something more potent in the works for North America’s Chevrolet Colorado. Maybe a high-performance Colorado ZR2 to do battle with the all-but-confirmed Ford Ranger Raptor.
