Honestly the GY Supercar 3's are the perfect balance of performance and wear for me. I ran AutoX almost every month and still got to 11K miles before I needed new tires. The Bridgestone RE-71 R's are the king of the hill for AutoX tire and I would guess you get about 75% the tread life. I do strongly recommend getting the Track Spec Alignment according to your HP supplement. -2 camber front -1.5 camber rear

AutoX is a great budget friendly option to track days and is much less wear an tear on a car. I would always recommend you start with AutoX before you move on to track days, not just for cost reasons, but you will be much improved as a driver when you learn the limits in lower speed controlled environments. Often time worst case scenario is you get some cone scuff marks that are easily cleaned off. The stakes are much higher when speeds go up on big tracks with very little run off area.

I see you are in the Charlotte area. You definitely need to come out and introduce yourself next year. Its a very welcoming and well run SCCA region. It's also one of the largest AutoX venues in the country and we have some of the best courses! I would be happy to teach you everything I learned in my first year. Egon was awesome at helping me along with his 5th gen 1LE experience and the Novice instructors are top notch.
