Thank you everyone who is chiming in on this!
I just wanted to add two notes that hopefully will get to Al, as KingLT1 noted, some forum members have had a lot of luck tuning their TCM to make the TC lock up 100% at cruising. In addition, a forum member from Chicago said that his dealership was informed that GM is supposedly releasing a revised speed sensor and wiring harness that fixes the issue of the hard/improper shifts which are apparently maybe caused by the speed sensor sending improper data and the A8 not knowing the correct input speed for shifting. I personally experience this on a daily basis, and have had multiple instances where the A8 either shifts at the wrong speed, shifts abruptly, or fails to shift up under hard acceleration. I think a proper tune and/or new speed sensors are both relatively simple fixes to roll out to anyone who is experiencing any of these symptoms, and should certainly be cheaper than GM having to pay lots of $$ for very expensive transmission flushes over and over again or replacing the transmission and/or TC entirely.
I am personally seriously considering trading in/selling my 17 1SS JUST because of the A8 and getting a 2019 just to get into an A10, and would likely lose a lot of money in the process. Please let us know if GM will do something to address these issues/implement these fixes.
