I really doubt it's doing anything to disconnect the drivetrain, but maybe the E-LSD isn't locking (for whatever reason) and it's operating as an open-diff. At that point one wheel off the ground = not going anywhere. I'd think that if you gave it some throttle, it would lock up and you'd be able to muscle it up the incline. That's just a theory of course.

I had the same thing happen to me pulling into my nephews driveway. It is really steep, so being afraid the splitter would drag, I turned in to hit the drive at a 45° angle. Once my inside rear tire made it near the bottom of the drive, the car stopped from the tire spinning. At first I let off the gas, it rolled back a bit, and I gave it gas again. It pulled forward a little and did the same thing. I tried it one more time, giving a little more throttle, and it went on up. Either I carried enough momentum to make it far enough across the dip for the tire to start regaining traction, the diff started locking up, or both.
