This is the strangest thing I've experienced with this car. On a recent trip to the beach, I stayed at a hotel with a 2 story parking garage. Initially I parked underground but thought that because I was staying on the 2nd floor, and no one else had parked upstairs, it would've been to my advantage to have the entire 2nd floor to myself.
I was concerned about the steep grade the car would have to climb, and if I would have clearance once I turned to get onto the ramp.
Here's the problem; Hopefully I can paint this picture where everyone can understand. The ramp was accessible from either direction. First, I tried to turn left onto the ramp, very gingerly moving forward to make sure there was no contact with the pavement. I was able to get half way into the turn and the car would not move anymore. It literally felt like the transmission popped out of gear and went straight to neutral. I would give it gas, but the car would not move. I didn't want to give it too much gas in case the trans was slipping or the clutches in the rear were not locking. I got a little scared at this point and decided to back away from the situation. I then decided not to come in from the other direction. I am now trying to turn right to go up this steep grade and the car did the same thing. WTF!!! It made no sense whatsoever. The next day when I found the opportunity, I was able to back into a space that was directly at the bottom of the ramp, and then I had no problem climbing the steep incline at all.
What am I missing here. Is there some kind of program or sensor that would disconnect the transmission in this manner. It was kind of embarrassing when a couple guys were walking by asking if there was a problem with my brand new car. One noted that he thought the posi unit in the rear wasn't locking. I had no response.
I took it to the dealership, described the problem, but could think of no place I could go to replicate the problem...besides this garage which was 3 hours away

.
The car has no problem when being launched. It spins both tires equally.
Has anyone else experienced this strange phenomenon?
