I just had a new exhaust built for my Z a few days ago. 3” from the 3” downpipes, into MF resonators, 3” SS mandrel bent pipes back to twin 6” MF round mufflers. It’s a true dual setup. No crossovers or merge pipes. It’s freaking mind boggling that it has such a high flow exhaust and is not much louder then stock. I hope I can get the same effect with the Camaro when the time comes, otherwise it’s staying stock.

I dont think there is really a difference on weight since the x is simply the two pipes welded into each other. This was a more cost effective approach for what was needed for flow volume. Plus MBRP could work off of an existing system and not build another. Single 3 in from downpipe back was not going to flow enough for the power levels we are shooting for. dual 3in will flow more than single. We did the math on cost to build at custom 3.5 in setup and it just wasn't worth it. This was the fastest and cheapest path to get what was needed. The xpipe was just an added bonus. It seems whenever you crash exhaust into exhaust it cancels some of the sound properties. Once we get a mic on the exhaust you will hear what I am talking about. It does not sound like a typical exhaust note. I am very curious what it will sound like under load.
