Here's some advice from a Gen 5 owner. I've been storing my Camaro for 6 months every winter since 2010:
Change the oil and filter.
Put a bottle of sta-bil in the tank before your last fill-up. Drive for 15 minutes or so to get the treated gas through the system.
Connect the battery tender to the terminals under the hood. Do not remove or disconnect the battery.
Pump the tires up to 40 psi. Don't worry about flat spotting though; it's a myth from the old days. Any flat spotting will go away after driving a short distance come Spring.
Do not put mothballs in your car; they stink. Do call professional pest control to place pet-safe containers of poison in all four corners of the garage.
Do not start the car periodically during storage. All this does is fill the exhaust and crank case with condensation.
