I'm pretty sure the MSD will provide some gains in the end. When I installed the MSD the car felt like it had a better throttle response. The dyno numbers came back at more of the low end average the day it was baselined.
I've read a couple of articles that the MSD didn't really come alive until the car was tuned as well.
