Very short gears, hell the 3.55's were too much for the 6R80..to say nothing of the 10 speed.
Obviously they're going for performance over fuel economy, otherwise you'd see something like 2.87's or around 3.0 flat.

3.55s are great for the 6R80 in 99% of situations.
