It's a 70K car that punches out cars 3x that.. Isn't on the ragged edge of a tune.. Replacement parts are incredibly cheap compared to ~some~ other mfg cars. The TCO of a ZL1 1LE is relatively mild given what you can do with it.
I don't get some rag publishers.. They're the kind that would ding a Top Fuel dragster for having shite gas mileage.
"We liked that this car can do 0-60 in 0.7s and a quarter mile in 3.7 @ 300mph.. But, it consumes 11G of fuel a second -- So, 12th place"

Oh I completely agree with you, it's not Chevy's fault it's just the magazines. Magazines usually just like the all around car and rarely understand THE REASON behind certain "flaws", for example, on a top fuel dragster would be BECAUSE it's so fast in a straight line. The reason behind the stiffness of a ZL1 1LE is because it can run a 7:14 or whatever 'Ring time.
They'd take a Porsche that's significantly slower in most measure but since the balance and comfort is there, good enough, it's the BDC. I originally thought that a "Driver's Car" was a performance oriented car that a "Driver" (Not a granny) would like to get in and push. Remember in the ZL1 review, he pointed out that the SS 1LE was a "Serious Driver's Car". Well, the ZL1 1LE is a SERIOUS drivers car so...
Oh well. I still think Chevy builds the best non-exotic performance cars out there, bar none. No magazine will shake that.
