I made a thread in Mechanical/Maintenance about the same thing happening to my 17 1SS NON 1LE. I got the car used with 20k miles on it and it happened to me at 21k, so I'm unsure if this has happened to it before. I'm gonna take a look at it when I get home tonight now knowing exactly where to look and make the repair. As a little side note, I also reported this issue to GM
Follow-Up: I finally took a peek inside my engine and found that Chevy Service had done this exact fix. Spliced the wires, wrapped with tape, then zip-tied down to keep it from touching the belt, kinda like they knew exactly what to do. Interesting...
