I traded in my 2016 Ecoboost Mustang for a 1SS. My insurance went up only 12 dollars with USAA. 4 cylinder to V8. 12 bucks. Gas? Different strokes for different folks. But, I don't think the advantages that a V6 has with fuel economy and etc is all that noteworthy these days with how efficient our V8's are now. Just my two cents and my own personal experience with my 2017.

Insurance differences depend highly on personal circumstances (age, record, etc...) I was in the same boat as you where my insurance increase was negligible. But we don't know the OP's situation. As for fuel, again highly dependent, but I agree this gen the fuel costs (and the price of gas) is closer. Another reason I decided on the V8 over V6. The tires and wear items are definitely going to be higher for a V8 though. Again why it would be good if the OP shared with us the reason for his budget.
