Which 1.4 in the Encore did you have? I had a 2013 Encore with the 138hp 1.4 and it was like you said, bad turbo lag, I test drove the Encore Sport Touring back in April with the 153hp 1.4 and it had no turbo lag. I traded immediately for it. We really like it. (Plus it was the color we liked)
