Oh it's pretty amazing. Cold start up the first thing you hear after the NPP fires up is the Bypass valve lets a big gush of air out. I have to admit it sounds pretty menacing for the first 10 seconds. As it idles down to normal you no longer hear the bypass at idle but just that blower whistle. Not as loud as a straight cut headunit though but just the right amount. Put it this way. My wife who's oblivious to car stuff rode with me recently and said. "What is that whistling sound". lol.
The bypass valve is louder than the NPP exhaust when you get near 3k RPM but whats cool though is it goes silent when you make even the slightest amount of boost and then you shift and hear the bypass make a pretty nice gush similar to a blow off valve on a turbo car..
My IAT's with my setup is usually 7 to 10 degrees over ambient and one time as low as only 5 degrees over. So the Stage 2 IC is awesome. It will drop down pretty quickly too after a few spirited pulls.
At first I wasn't too crazy about how loud the bypass is but it's definitely grown on me. I was going to replace the bypass with an enclosed version but those are a tad bit taller and wouldn't fit without having to trim some of the fascia. I decided just to stay with the open version.
