This is how internet rumors get started.
The boost and power curves of the P1 and D1 are identical. (same with outlet temp) When you match the boost/cfm flow to each other.
EXAMPLE: If you have....
Car #1: 4.00" pulley on a P1 car and make 600hp and 8psi
Car #2: 4.25" pulley on a D1 car and make 600hp and 8psi
You would NEVER be able to tell which car has what blower.
Since everything about them would be identical...
(I know this because I have done this test many times)
The ONLY difference is that the D1 moves more air per revolution.
So thus, it needs a larger pulley to match the boost...
AND it can make about 100 more HP on the top over the P1.
But yes, the blowers will stop flowing right at their redline of impeller speed.
That's why we have the "redline" max rpm rating. It's not only because of gearbox safety... but also because that's pretty much where the power stops.
The D1X is a different story, (and p1x) since they are unrelated in impeller design.
Thanks!

NOTE ON SOUND:
All P1, P1X, D1, D1X will sound the same. Since they share the same gearboxes.
Standard straight cut is louder,
Helical gears are for more reduced sound,

Thanks for chiming in. If it flows more air per revolution then it should translate to a bit more power on the dyno even if a small amount, P1 revs to 65000 and flows 1200 and D1sc revs to 62000 and flows 1400, each rev is worth more. I've seen some of your posts and I don't agree with some of them. You yourself have said in other forums that a D1 is worth roughtly 30hp over a P1 and the P1x cuts that difference in half. You like to spread misinformation about how good prochargers tunes are, but I've seen actual/factual data.

have a good day.
Edit: but I will say I love your blower kits and stand behind the product 110%
