Took Precious up to Daytona yesterday for the second SCCA CFR PDX of the year. THIS time I remembered to put the SD car into the GoPro, both of them.
It wasn't as well attended as the one we had back in May, probably because of the temps or constant threat of rain here at this time of year but I was told by the event chief that 30 cars showed up. Which is pretty decent, but it also leaves the potential for a lot of open track, which is a good thing when you're out there. 30 cars on a 3.56 mile track... if you can't find a way to get several traffic free laps, you're doing it wrong.
At any rate, I had a great time and managed to get some laps down in the 2:16 time frame. I believe my fastest in May was a low 2:17. I am continually amazed at how well balanced this car is, not to mention the fantastic initial bite these stock brake pads have... and I don't even have the SS with the 6 pot Brembos!
Anyway, I have some more video but so far I've only edited this one lap from the first session Friday AM. I was the first car to pull up to grid, the 240Z that passed me I know. He has a ~400HP stroked 302 ford V8 in that thing and is running 10-11" Avon slicks on it...he could also learn a thing or two about the quick line in a few places from what I observed.
He was also the only car that caught me during that session.

Have I mentioned that I think this car sounds 'awesome' when you get to do this kind of thing with it? Next time I'm using an external mic mounted outside under the bumper.
