If the 1LE was not profitable then they would not be selling it in this generation again. 99.9% of people will never own a GT500 (IF we ever see one). Does it's performance still matter to enthusiasts? Absolutely. I'm not trying to bash the 18 Stang. Just saying that how it performs against all Camaros will be important. 1LE included.
The 1LE vs the PP are not exactly the same. The PP can be had with the Premium GT where as with the 1LE it's a performance package for the 1SS. The PP2 may change this though. The 1LE makes up a small percentage of the overall Camaro sales but sure; it's important because it's performance upgrades with a warranty. In this day and age that can be hard to come by. Probably why we still have not seen the GM CAI that was advertised last year. I think it's a refreshing break to see Ford, GM, and Dodge so close now in performance. However, I think as we get closer to that budget 11 second daily driver we are going to hit a wall in terms of 1/4 performance just out of safety concerns. The obvious next step is to upgrade the cars handling which both GM and Ford seem to be doing nicely.
