+1!

Onstar will show where your vehicle was at with given time/date. If I am not mistaken (which could be the case!) You have to be subscribed to OnStar (paid) and trial may or may not have this feature.

First of, I am NOT a lawyer however just an enthusiast of law related things.
If you have not done the hit and run, you will be fine. You just need to absolutely prove to the DA that you didn't by getting proofs of things. Like, DMV paper showing the fact that your plate was replaced before the incident (they will keep a record of it if you lost yours), vehicle location (onstar), vehicle not been repairs (third party or trained eye) etc. I would strongly recommend that you an attorney involved ASAP. Know your rights and also be open with the DA's investigation.

Another thing, are you absolutely sure that this is not a scam? If all contact has been done via phone/emails, I wouldn't trust it and would go down to the DA's office or your local police station to check if such open investigation even exists. They cannot give you ANY details but can at least say that it is an open investigation and cannot comment thus you would know if it's real or a scam. But I am also a bit paranoid like that haha. I've had to pleasure of dealing with many craigslist and phone call scammers.

If it is real... You can also have the prosecutors office arrange a 3rd party body shop (or Law Enforcement) to inspect the vehicle. They can and will tell if the vehicle has been recently repaired/repainted (fresh paint leaves traces of gas, why you are not suppose to wax a freshly painted vehicle nor put clear bra on it for a good 3 months so that paint "breathes").

Depending on your State as well as the out come of the Hit and Run, it ranges from Misdemeanor 1 (18 months / 5 grand fine) to Felony (3 years / 500k), It just depends if the case they have against the plate was involved in just property damage, injury to person(s) or even casualty. If a casualty is involved, DA will add the charge of manslaughter, involuntary or voluntary (which becomes murder). I am not trying to scare you, just trying to be clear and informative of the fact that you need to get a lawyer asap AND start an official investigation ASAP to clear yourself from such accusation. Also, remember that it is innocent until proven guilty.

Having ONLY the plate info is a bit sketchy to me. Especially considering the fact that you have a BLUE coupe with a WING on the back (to the non-car person). Anyone who is able to read your plate can see that and it is THE first thing the officers would ask the person who made the call... What type of vehicle.

Anyhow, I hope you get it all figured out! Don't let it busy your mind too much. If you haven't done it, you haven't done it. Just prove to them. That's all.
