The RPMs will drop but you will hear the farting from the exhaust as they do. The NLS feature is designed to allow the RPMs to drop but be able to apply full throttle immediately as the clutch is released to minimize drivetrain shock and shift time.

I have some video that shows using NLS with some slower shifts, I'll see if I can put something together and post a link for you.
