Not my story but it makes me laugh, goes something like this:
Middle aged gentleman is out in his new Camaro, feeling young, punches the throttle and hits 80 just as he passes a cop. Cop pulls out behind him and the guy floors it more, and then realizes it's useless to try and pulls over. Cop comes to the window and says "you should have pulled over right away, but it's the end of my shift, and if you can come up with a good excuse, I'll let you off." So the guy thinks quick and says, " well, my wife ran away with a cop two weeks ago, and I thought you were trying to bring her back." Cop says, " have a nice day, sir!"

It made me laugh as well. Very good.
