I'm fine with the audio on my 2LT. As far as I know there are no differences in the system between a 2LT and 2SS. It is not an audiophile grade system for sure but then again, the inside of a car - and particularly our cars is by no means an ideal listening environment. There is enough road noise in the car that it limits my ability to pick out any glaring deficiencies in the audio. Understanding of course that I am also accepting of compressed audio sources like MP3.
I think the bottom line is that audio is one of the individual, personal preference items that you will be best served to find a way to listen for yourself and decide. Go to your local dealer and see if you can get a demo, or better, find an owner near you and see if they can give you a demo. That way you get all the benefits of the demo without the hassles of a dealership visit.
