It's a give and take situation. With other mods you would overcome the loss of torque and exceed the original powerband everywhere if the package was put together properly. Cam has a lot to do with it. Too much excess intake air and you'll have it reverberating back up into the intake causing turbulence and loss of torque through the lower powerband. Too little and it'll be starving and still low on torque. Needs to be a well thought out package to really perform.
