I have the m6 so it's a little different, the timer doesn't start unless the car actually moves. The best I've gotten is 6.0 flat with a little bit of tire spin.
Thanks for that idea about resetting the timer just before/as you start to move... I haven't actually tried that yet. I know I lose anywhere from .4-.6 on an average launch on that timer because it starts counting as soon as it leaves idle.

My best times in my 4 cylinder car on the dash timer have been around 4.4-4.6, but when checking 0-60 on an external source(s) it's closer to 3.9-4.1 on a real good launch.
