Non-1LE's don't have PTM modes, right? A TPMS issue will prevent cars equipped with PTM from going into PTM mode. If that isnt an issue for you, then I don't see a reason you "need" the sensors. With that said I have a set in my track wheels and I bought a $40 remote so I could repair the car when I switch wheels.
