Actually, the tint twisty little lanes in Europe are why they had underpowered anemic vehicles. They had no frikking highways save the the famed high speed Autobahn. This country on the other hand is vast with Interstate highways stretching from coast to coast.
Americans once preferred large and comfortable cars and a different form of automobile competition than our Euro counterparts. The current generation of
car enthusiast appears to have a desire to be globally correct in their driving choice. Personally, I enjoy raw horsepower and the rush of a quarter mile sprint however, I grew up when this country thrived on that type of performance.
The "ring" is a measure of a certain type of performance of which the author has apparently suffered great trauma from having his ass handed to him by the lowly GM offerings. Kinda like the anti Trumper folks, they just can't accept the truth.
