The GM intake is literally the Cold Air Inductions repacked to GM with a slightly different placement of the MAF sensor (which I assume is why it needs a tune). Like I said before, look at the CAI for what it is, a piece to a puzzle when building your car for performance. I just try to keep things in perspective because I have wasted so much money in the past on "performance" parts because of false expectations. Keep asking questions though and do your own research.
