I would be interested to know the effects of the sound tube removal. I think I understand what it is supposed to do, but I would like a more detailed description of what the sound tube does and what changes occur when it's gone.

I took mine out. There's a diaphragm within the circular part that is bolted to the block. It somehow passively produces a noise that ends up in the cabin. The tube from the diaphragm to the cabin passes air. After taking mine apart I don't believe this is in any way a natural noise being magnified. It's fake. Like CNN lol. But seriously, it's purely cosmetic, passive, and I honestly don't miss it at all. I believe the RF has probably increased some noise such as a modified intake should to the point where I can't tell a difference at all. I don't miss it at all. After taking the so called secondary cats out I don't need any more noise anyway. Also, taking all of the snorkel apparatus out has allowed me to place a catch can using the same mounting points on the block for ease of dumping all the oil mixture out.
