I've done 0-60 runs on various roads that have a 60+ speed limit and my times are well within the margin of error of being the same as when i was running my K&N drop-in filters. That's with the aFe intake rather than the GM one.
I think the higher flow filter makes the majority of the difference (if there is any) and the rest is all for visual aesthetics...as they dont really improve on the OEM design much at all.
