Competitive mode is what allows access to launch control for the most part on a M6. It turns off traction control, but leaves stability control on, yet in a very laid back setting. Not much else, and this is fully available in track mode.

Just to clarify, I was indeed wrong in my statement. It IS possible to get Competitive Mode in Track by pressing TC *once*. This is consistent with the manual. However., if one presses TC *twice* it launches PTM which is very different from the prior mode (almost opposit design prinicples). So I stand corrected anmd hope this clarifies the matter. PS I've updated the OP accordingly.
