Your situation could be considered a scam, as the dealer and their salesman misrepresented what you thought was a legitimate negotiated price, and that is what you based your decision to purchase on...and why they were willing to still reduce the price afterwards.

The OP , however, knew the price was lower due to an error and a discount that he did not qualify for. He would have bought anyway had the price been correctly stated with the supplier pricing, which would have been higher, not employee discount. He has suffered no harm, other than the request of the dealer that he pay the actual negotiated price for which he was qualified to receive...

Good for you for being honest. The OP's honesty remains to be seen....
