I had a similar experience on my red hot a few weeks ago. I had a really cool sales woman and I haggled on the price a little and also had a supplier code. So I drive down, get the car and think all is well. A few days later they call and say they need my registration on my current GM vehicle so they can process my $1500 loyalty discount. I literally never told them I had another GM vehicle in my household and the buyers contract had a $1500 discount on it, but I just thought that was an amount they were giving me because of the haggling. All of a sudden im faced with an extra $1500 fee. It boiled down to the sales lady just trying to get me all the discounts she could and thought that would fly under the radar. Well it didn't. But she did make $1000 of that disappear and I just gave them an additional $500. I was cool with that because it really was both of our faults. Hers for trying that and mine for not questioning where that extra rebate came from. I think in the op' s case, at the very least they should all share the blame and the cost. It's partly his fault and partly the dealership' s fault.
