If it makes you feel even a little bit better than that, I ran my first few track day events (plus thousands of street miles) with a DIY-repaired Goodyear Asymmetric tire (I think the June 2014 Camaro5/AutoInterests Mid-Ohio event was the last for those GY's). Zero difference in air-holding capability or in any other measure of tire performance or durability that I could ever tell.
