If you don't plan on keeping it long there's nothing to worry about.
I plan on keeping mine, as an everyday driver, for at least 7 or 8 years. I can't afford to buy a new Camaro SS every 3 years lol. So no, no new car is going to burn oil at 6500 miles. 165,000? If the engine hasn't been broken in and taken care of, absolutely.
I consider it a thing of pride to have well over 100k on a car and everything still be in top working order. My previous car was at 126k when I sold it and the previous one had 225k when I sold it, and all of them I bought brand new.
