I priced shipping a hood across the country and it has been about $300. I was told the reason was not the weight, but the footprint that the hood takes up. I would buy one of these hoods but the price is so hard to swallow. I bought a CF hood last year and even though the quality was great and so was the fitment, my OCD found every strand in the CF that was not perfectly in line. When the sun reflected off of it, it was not uniform and it drove me nuts. I don't want to spend $1500 for a hood unless it's perfect.
